Sesame Street eBookstore Review

When I was recently approached to review Sesame Street's eBookstore, (http://ebooks.sesamestreet.org) I was absolutely delighted.  As a child I loved Sesame Street and was thrilled to share the show with my own children.  I was honored to be chosen to review their newest endeavour, an eBookstore.  The eBookstore is very user friendly, even my four year old son found it easy to navigate.  You can chose between parent and child mode (and bookshelves).   There are four different options of books to chose from (eBooks, audio eBooks, interactive eBooks and animated eBooks), each with an easy "how to"guide.

These books include...

· eBooks: Books that allow you to read aloud at your own pace
· Audio eBooks: eBooks that include fun Sesame Street audio narration, text highlight, sound effects and music
· Interactive eBooks: eBooks that allow children to interact with the content in playful and educational ways
·Animated eBooks: eBooks that bring to life beloved Sesame Street characters and stories, in full-color animation

There are many different subject matters to choose from including numbers, colors, letters, counting, feelings, etc.  A few examples include such classics as Mommy Loves Elmo; Big Block Party and The Monster at the End of this Book.  There are a few titles that are available in Spanish as well.

An annual subscription provides users unlimited access to more than 100 Sesame Street ebooks online.  This is a great alternative to television when you need a few minutes to entertain the kids while you make dinner or what have you.  My younger boys have been enjoying the site for about a month.  I practically have to tear them away from the computer when they are busy reading/listening to the stories.  They especially love the "read and listen" books that feature Bob, Alan and other beloved characters of Sesame Street.  I highly recommend this site to anyone who loves Sesame Street.  I know your family will love it....Mine did!
